TCI Development Process

How can we help students best learn this concept? TCI lesson developers approach every lesson by first asking this question and then creating the activity, resources, and procedures to bring the lesson to life.

Students are at the center of TCI's development process.
Our developers — teachers in their former lives — understand the challenges of having students with multiple learning styles and backgrounds in one classroom. Their goal is to create lessons that allow all students to discover, experience, and connect with content.

The Process

A lot goes into creating one TCI lesson. Our developers strive to make each lesson as interactive as possible and to integrate technology thoughtfully.

To create a lesson, TCI developers:

  • Review state standards to determine the key concepts in a subject area
  • Determine the best TCI Teaching Strategy to teach the concept
  • Create the classroom activity, assessment, Reading Challenges and supporting student text
  • Refine, test, and review the lesson in classrooms
  • Finalize lesson and deliver to teachers
  • Gather teacher feedback and improve the lesson

We take teacher feedback seriously. Because our content is delivered digitally, we can update and improve content based on customer feedback. We release system updates over summer and winter breaks so we don't interfere with the teaching calendar.
